Our story begins like many stories about family-owned businesses.
Our father, Bob Wasil, in pursuit of the American dream, risked everything to open his own business in 1976. Midwest Control was born in 1976, and became the custom control panel builder for Furnas Electric. In a few short years, the need arose for a parts department to support the growing control panel business, so in 1979 our father opened his parts distributor, Midco Component Sales.
Midco Component Sales serviced the OEM market place through the 80’s. We grew up as the company grew; and as we completed our educations, we each came back to the family business. We performed all the functions of running Midco, learning the trade as we went.
In 1992, we purchased Midco Component Sales from our father and re-named the business Midco Electric Supply, to better identify our vision of the future of the business. Our company continued to grow as we expanded our product offerings and customer base. Our personal growth and knowledge continues to expand, to meet the continuing challenges and technological advances in the electrical industry.
Midco became certified as a Woman Owned Business in 2001 and branched into the municipal market place. The 2000’s saw rapid growth as Midco forged into roadway and commercial construction.
One constant from 1979 to now is the commitment to be the best at what we do and to provide a friendly, family atmosphere to our employees and customers.
With never ending gratitude,
Diane, Linda and Debbie
